YORK, Maine - Linda L. Perkins, 76, a lifelong resident of York, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at Sentry Hill Assisted Living Facility after a long illness. Linda was born on May 19, 1941 a daughter of the late Robert R. and Rose (Tonnetti) Littlefield.
After graduating from York High School as an honor student, she married Kenneth P. Perkins and became the mother of their three beloved children. Linda was widowed at a young age and successfully raised the children on her own. When time permitted, she returned to college earning a degree in economics. She worked as a business woman, accountant, and a financial forecaster until her retirement. Linda was an active member of St. George's Episcopal Church in York Harbor, where she served as an Assistant Treasurer, a member of the Altar Guild and in other capacities.
Her love of reading led her to a volunteer position as an English Tutor. She also contributed her time and skills to the York Public Library after her retirement. She always enjoyed her time with family, especially her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Surviving her are three children, Monica (Niki) Noyes of Greenland, N.H., Darryl Perkins of Wilmington, Mass., and Dean Perkins of York, Maine, and their respective spouses. Linda is also survived by three siblings, Sidney Kasfir of Atlanta, Ga., Natalie Archer of Placerville, Calif. and Nina Bisognani of Cape Neddick, Maine.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine. A Memorial service will be held at Noon on Thursday, Oct. 26 in St. George's Episcopal Church, York St., York Harbor, Maine. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Public Library.
