Passed away on May 6, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Born Agawam, MA and raised in Dover, NH

Graduate of Dover High School and Hutchinson Technical School, Hutchinson, MN with a degree in NDT (Non Destructive Testing)

Wife:  Therese (Murphy) Letellier of Worcester, MA

Children:  Jack (Merrimack College); Madalyn and Neil (Marshwood High School) and Charlie (puppy) all of Eliot, ME

 

Pre-deceased by his father Brandon Neil Letellier and mother Kathleen Letellier McAtavey

Siblings:

Kathy& husband Rob

Laurie& husband Chris

Randy & wife Marie

Mary and daughter Kara

Many nieces and nephews

 

Matthew began his career working in the Midwest for many years before relocating to Massachusetts where he met his beloved wife Therese, over 30 years ago, relocating one more time to the seacoast area landing at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY), Kittery, ME.

 

Matthew made a career change after the birth of his eldest son Jack starting his own business Foodee’s Pizza/Wildcat Pizza, York, ME. After the birth of his daughter Madalyn he acquired Downeast Doughnuts, Eliot, ME from the original owners Andy and Anne Mantis before returning to PNSY after the birth of his youngest son Neil.

 

Matthew enjoyed life, family and friends.  He had many interests throughout the years – basketball, golf, boating and fishing to name a few.  He also greatly enjoyed his children’s activities - basketball, dance recitals, soccer, band concerts, cross county/track and tennis.

 

Matthew fulfilled a life long dream last year by adopting and bringing home the family puppy, Charlie.

 

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the support they received from family and friends as well as the care and compassion they received from the entire staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, York Hospital Home Care Nurses and most recently at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital-Seacoast Cancer Center, Palliative Care and Wentworth Hospice.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 11th at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dover Point Road, Dover, NH with lunch to follow at Weeksie’s Pizza, Third Street, Dover, NH.  Family and friends are all invited.

In lieu of flowers,gifts in memory may be made online to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Give Now:  Genitourinary Cancers/Prostate Cancer Fund; Wentworth-Douglass Foundation: Seacoast Cancer Center, Palliative Care or Hospice; or Animal Welfare Society, Kennebunk, ME:  Support Us/Donate.
