I only knew Minshall for three weeks as a neighbor. The last conversation we had was about how very much he looked forward to his fishing trip in Oregon with his buddies from all over. During the course of three or four evenings on his back stoop, he told me of his Maine roots, showed me the woodwork and home improvements he had completed and of which he was proud (rightly so!), and shared interest in a box I made for my Dad's birthday. He grew beautiful irises. He was thoughtful and had a wry humor. I shall miss him and the many stories we will not share until we meet again. My sincerely condolences to his family, to Gwen, his children, and his grandchild.
