William (Billy) S. Caswell Jr. , age 61, of 26 Hawk Way, Eliot, ME went home to Heaven on September 13, 2017.

He was predeceased by his parents William S. Sr. and Louise (Gillman) Caswell.  He was the oldest of 3 children.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas and wife Leslie Caswell of Portsmouth, NH.  2 nieces and a nephew, and his brother Robert (Bob), currently of Rochester, NH, who held an extremely special place in Billy's heart.  He also had many cousins and friends.

Billy attended Portsmouth schools and for the past 12 years has attended Eliot Baptist Church.  He was employed at various agencies in the Portsmouth area and showed a strong work ethic.  He loved to interact with others, especially children and the elderly.

He would fondly recall several times hitch hiking across the country during his late teens and early 20s.

Billy loved life.  He enjoyed fishing, sports, music, TV, playing bingo and pool.

One of Billy's greatest gifts was his ability to care for others.  It was difficult for him to see anyone sad, hungry or in need.  He loved to tell jokes.  In his own unique way he would attempt to brighten anyone's day who passed through his life.  Once when attending a John Prine Concert at the Music Hall he purchased tickets for all the limo drivers who were waiting for those they had transported to see the show.  He would often give away his coats to the homeless and would always provide a meal.

For the past 14 years Billy shared his life with his fiance'  Sharon Geraci who he had known since childhood.  Her family had adopted Billy as their own.  Daughter, Alicia Webber and grandsons, Jacob and Alex Wilcox and Gabriel Webber of Portsmouth.  These children brought Billy his greatest joy.  As his health declined he would enjoy activities close to home.  Walks on the beach collecting sand dollars, lazy days floating on the lake and attending "Soul Fest'.

He was loved and will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday October 6, 2017 at  Eliot Baptist Church Friday October 6, 2017 with a luncheon to follow.
