Ann (Ely) Brake

York - Ann Elizabeth Brake (Ely), 84, of Mill Lane, peacefully passed on the morning of Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at home with her family by her side. Born on April 1, 1935 she was raised in York, ME. and was the daughter of Thomas and Inez Ely. Ann was a motorcycle enthusiast her whole life. Her very first motorcycle was a 700cc Indian Scout, which she used to bring her kids to the beach. She later enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson Heritage Soft-tail. She was a member of The United Bikers of Maine and participated in many charity rides like the Toys for Tots run. Ann loved to cook, bake, knit socks and mittens which she donated to various charitable organizations, crochet afghans, play cribbage, and make puzzles with friends and family. Ann was also an avid sports fan; her favorite teams included the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Sox, and the Green Bay Packers. She also enjoyed watching tennis and figure-skating. Ann was a registered CNA, but she was most passionate about end of life in-home private care for the elderly. She felt it most important to keep the elderly in the comfort of their own home surrounded by their family, as these were her wishes as well. Over her many years, she impacted and touched the lives of many, and will be deeply missed by all. Ann was extremely dedicated to her family. She always made it a priority to provide for her children and grandchildren putting herself second. She valued education and was very proud to put grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Murray through Berwick Academy. Ann is survived by her three children Catherine Letellier of Rochester, NH., and her fiance Michael Egeler of New Durham, NH., Clarence H. Moses III of Gonic, NH., and Robin Murray of York, ME.; her grandchildren Jason Letellier of Sanbornville, NH., Katie and Justin Gauthier of South Berwick, ME., Carly and Drue Lorenz of Bow, NH., Hannah and Sarah Murray of York, ME; great granddaughters Madison and Everly Gauthier of South Berwick, ME.; her sister Drucella Daniels of York, ME., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Clarence H. Moses Jr of York, ME., and her second husband Robert Brake of South Berwick, ME.; her brother Thomas Ely Jr of York, ME; her nephews Troy Ely and Russel Freeman both of York, ME; and her brother-in-law Lawrence Moses of York, ME. She was laid to rest in the First Parish Cemetery in York, ME.
