After retiring, she and Charles moved to her parents family home in York, Maine. She was a former member of the Portsmouth Yacht Club in New Castle, NH. She enjoyed spending many summers on their boat, the Cyn-Bar, cruising the coast of Maine with family and friends. Barbara also spent many years volunteering for Shriner Fundraisers, the Portsmouth Maritime Commission, and the York Senior Center. She loved music and played the piano for many organizations, even recently entertaining her friends and caring staff at Sentry Hill. Through the years, and when time allowed, Barbara loved to just sit with her beloved cats and enjoy the beauty of the York River. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Charles of 68 years, her daughter Cynthia Jefferson of Portsmouth, NH, her son Steven Jefferson of New Castle, NH and her grandson Matthew Jefferson, who she loved watching grow through the years and whom she spent many days with on the beach and the family boat.
