Beverly was born on October 15th 1935 in Belgrade Lakes , Maine. She grew up on the lakes helping her father who was a well known fishing guide. After graduating Cony High School in Augusta she married Robert Young, her husband of sixty years. They moved to York, Maine to raise their family of six boys and yes, a single girl.
Beverly was known as an accomplished baker, knitter and quilter. She worked hard to raise her seven children while simultaneously baking bread, sewing or knitting clothes, quilting blankets and a myriad other tasks to keep the family going. She was famous for her baked beans known as "Bev's Beans” and were often the feature at family gatherings and church social events.
Beverly worked for three decades as a nurse's aide and personal care giver. It was in her nature to give and care for others before herself. That virtue will be her most enduring legacy she will leave her family and friends who knew her best. If you needed help, understanding or just someone to listen to you Beverly always said yes. Her love for her family was truly unconditional.
