Brenda C. (Johnson) Blake

York Harbor, Maine-Brenda C. Blake, 77, of Wavecrest Dr., passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born March 4, 1940 in Medford, MA a daughter of the late Frederick L. and Marie M. (Corey) Johnson. Brenda was married for 52 years to the late Edward C. Blake. She is survived by her sister Marguerite Palumbo of Woburn, MA and brother Frederick Johnson of Gloucester, MA; two sons Geoffrey of York, ME and Jonathan of New Gloucester, ME; several grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Rollins of Gloucester, MA. Brenda was a graduate of Medford High School and of Emerson College in Boston. From 1968 to 2001 she and her husband owned and operated the Marginal Way House and Motel in Ogunquit, ME. Prior to that she worked in the public relations department of both Emerson College and Catholic Charities of Massachusetts. Brenda was a loving mother and best friend to many who knew her. Her energy, generosity, intelligence, and unwavering sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was also an author and expert on Eggcups as well as a frequent critic of Boston’s sports teams.

 A memorial service in celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 5th,in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, ME  followed by a reception and buffet at the Stage Neck Inn.
