Fleurette Tremblay, 87 of Nashua NH and York ME passed away peacefully on September 8, 2017 at Durgin Pines in Kittery due to end stage heart failure.

Fleurette was born in Baie-du-Febvre, Quebec, Canada on January 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Gabrielle and Beatrice Benoit.  She attended Ellis Business School in Drummondville, Canada, where she learned bookkeeping and payroll functions.  Soon after graduating, Fleurette was employed at Dominion Textile in Drummondville in the payroll department. Through a distant cousin and a trip to the United States, she met her future husband Paul Tremblay.  After a long distance courtship, from Cambridge, MA to Canada, they were married on April 21, 1956. Fleurette started a new life in Cambridge where she taught herself how to speak and read English.  She also learned how to drive in Harvard Square during rush hour. After moving to Cambridge she worked for National Biscuit in the bookkeeping department. Fleurette and Paul moved to Nashua NH where they lived for 28 years while raising their three daughters.  Fleurette was an excellent seamstress and was able to use her sewing skills to get a job at Machinists, a fabric store in Nashua NH.  When Paul started his company, Tremblay Associates, she worked by his side handling the finances for the business.  Fleurette and Paul moved to York Beach Maine for their retirement, where Fleurette worked at several retail stores including the Harbor House Apparel and Sheltons. Her French speaking skills were invaluable when Canadian tourists visited the stores.  She loved being with her family and entertaining, she enjoyed a good Manhattan and was the best card player in the family.

Fleurette is predeceased by her husband Paul Tremblay; her sisters Rita Rouillard, Lucille Ally, Therese Precourt and brother Gratien Benoit. She is survived by her three daughters: Helen Stirk and husband Jim of Naperville, IL, Susan Tremblay of York, ME, and Pauline Simonton and her husband David of Concord, NH; four grandchildren Katie and Andrew Stirk, and Brooke and Jodie Simonton; and many nieces and nephews. Fleurette is survived by her sister Laure Caya, and sisters-in-law Oddette Benoit and Gisele Tremblay.
