James E (Jimmy) McHutchison of Kittery Point, ME slipped his mooring and sailed off to the great beyond Dec.31, 2017, after surviving a 4+ year battle with mesothelioma, against all odds! He was born May 8,1941 in Englewood, NJ, son of Joan Clarke and James E McHutchison.
He was an avid sailor with many miles under his keel, held a US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner 100 ton license, and made his mark in advertising for many years, specializing in the marine industry.
He was a past member of the Ocean Cruising Club, a current member of the Portsmouth Yacht Club and longtime member of the Cruising Club of America.
His love of the water and all things nautical will be carried on by those who survive him, which include his daughters Jennifer Koopmans and Heather McHutchison, four grandchildren, his partner, love and supporter, Eleanor (Pepper) Sinkler, as well as several wonderful cousins and many friends too numerous to mention.
