Mary A. (Cobery) Wholey

York Beach, Maine-Mary A. (Cobery) Wholey, 91, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018. She was born May 4, 1927 in Fall River, MA a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Elsie (Smith) Cobery. She was a graduate of Lowell High School, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and had worked as a photographer at Loring Studios in Lowell. She was a member of St. Christopher's Church. She was an active volunteer at York Hospital and with self help groups. She was also a member of the Quilters of York, Maine. Her husband Donald F. Wholey of 60 yrs died in 2008. She leaves 4 sons, D. Timothy Wholey and his wife Joyce of Hollis, NH, John J. Wholey and his wife Catherine of Arundel, ME, Thomas F. Wholey his wife Denise of Weare, NH, Brian P. Wholey and his wife Sharon of Chelmsford, MA; a daughter-in-law Karen Wholey of Fitchburg, MA; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A son Daniel J. Wholey and a brother Thomas W. Cobery predeceased her.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wed., September 26th in St. Christopher's Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York, Maine. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Tues., September 25th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine. Burial will be in the First Parish Cemetery.
