York, Maine- Mimmo Basileo, 88, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018. He was born June 6, 1929 in Italy, a son of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza (Ciciliato) Basileo and was raised by his step-father Santo Puleo. He was the Chef at Mimmo's restaurant in York for many years. He was well respected and loved by all who knew him. He leaves a son Anthony Basileo of Locust Valley, NY; a daughter Mary Anne Basileo Valdez of York, ME; a granddaughter Nina Isabella Basileo Valdez of York, ME; his longtime companion Diana Hickey of York, ME; two brothers, Angelo and Santino; two sisters in law; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers Vincenzo and Anthony and two sisters in Law predeceased him.
A funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11am on Friday, January 19th in St. Christopher Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York, Maine. Burial will follow in the First Parish Cemetery.
