York, Maine - Patricia A. Patstone, "Gingie" 79, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was born June 29, 1937, in York, Maine, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Anna C. (Reardon) Balentine. Pat served as the first female firefighter on the York Volunteer Fire Department. She held the rank of Captain for the Fire Police. She enjoyed cooking, singing, reading, and her word search puzzles.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Frank L. Patstone; son Frank L. Patstone Jr. of South Berwick, ME; 2 daughters; Wanda J. Rohde (Thomas) of Casper, WY; and Melissa A. Avery (Dale Jr.) of Nottingham, NH; 2 brothers; Charles S. Balentine (Barbara) of York, Maine and Gerald F. Balentine (Rita) of Portsmouth, NH; 6 grandchildren; Joshua Moulton (Brittney), Ashley Moulton, Katherine and Daniel Patstone, Sarah and Brian Rohde, 2 great-granddaughters; Rylie and Reina, many nieces and nephews, and in-laws. She was predeceased by both her sister Shirley M. Woodward and brother-in-law Bruce R. Woodward.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 3rd at the First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine, with a reception to follow at the York Vol. Fire Department. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Vol. Fire Dept., York Hospital Hospice or to a charity of one's choice. Family flowers only.
