York, Maine Pauline J. Emery 84, of 40 Seabury Road York, Maine, passed away peacefully Monday May 28, 2018 at York Hospital with her family by her side. She was born July 31, 1933 in Boston, MA. A daughter of the late Leon F. and Helena (Lang) Jackson. She grew up in Dedham, MA and graduated from Dedham High School in 1951. She studied Theology at Bates College before transferring to The Chandler School for Women in Boston.
She summered in York, Maine her entire life, often spending time with the Coleman family who were keepers of the Lighthouse. Staying on the island created memories of a lifetime. In 1961 she married Thomas Sewall Emery a York native. She was very active at the Union Congregational Church for over 50 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She sang in the Church Choir, Seacoast Chorus, and the York Singers.
She is survived by 3 daughters Pamela E. Lyon of York, Maine, Deborah E. Hanson of Wells, Maine and Cynthia E. d'Entremont and her husband Gary of York, Maine; 4 grandchildren Athena May, Brandon Thomas, Heather Elizabeth, and Thomas Seth; 1 great granddaughter Penelope Elizabeth and 1 great grandchild due in November. Her husband of 33 years Thomas S. Emery and her brother Philip Jackson predeceased her.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday June 1, 2018 at 11am in the Union Congregational Church, Church St. York Beach, Maine.
