York, Maine- Philip W. Treadwell, 94, of Beech Ridge Rd., passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born October
22, 1922 in Sanford, ME, the son of the late Harold and Iris (Mace) Treadwell. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He had worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for more than 30 years. He was a loyal member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and celebrated 75 years of membership recently. He was an avid reader and stamp collector and in addition he enjoyed word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, collecting coins and playing cribbage. His wife of 59 yrs, Muriel E. (Small) Treadwell died in 2006. He leaves a son, William P. Treadwell and his wife Linda of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Jeanne E. Baker and her husband Gary of Dyer, TN and Nancy L. Douglas and her husband Gary of Wells, ME; 6 grandchildren, Scott Douglas, Patricia Yaxley, Michelle Treadwell, Jennifer Baker, Alison Hinton and Timothy Baker; 7great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A sister Phyllis Colley predeceased him.
Calling hours for Philip will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 5th in the York Street Baptist Church, 61 York St., York, Maine. A funeral service will be held in the Church at 11am on Thursday, July 6th. Burial will follow in the First Parish Cemetery.
