Robert B. Fregeolle Obituary

Capt. Robert B. Fregeolle of York, Maine and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, died suddenly on Sunday, May 26th, as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident. He was 32 years of age. Robert was the beloved son of Gerard and Maureen Fregeolle of York, ME, and the treasured brother of Amy Patrissi and her husband Christian of Atkinson, NH and Maura Agnelli and her husband Joseph of Leicester, MA. In addition he is survived by his nieces and nephew, Clara and Eden Patrissi and Joseph and Elianna Agnelli, as well as his dear aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. He was the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence R. Byron and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fregeolle, all of Woburn, MA.

Robert was born in Winchester, MA, was raised in North Billerica, MA and  graduated from York High School. He then graduated in 2010 from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

After his graduation from Wentworth,  Robert began his career in yachting. He loved the ocean, loved to travel and loved meeting interesting people from all over the world. He began his career as a deck hand, worked his way to the first officer position and then earned his captain's license a couple of years ago. He enjoyed the experience of making two transatlantic crossings on a yacht, the first of which he invited his dad, Gerry , to accompany him. Rob and Gerry, with the yacht crew, jumped off the boat in the exact middle of the Atlantic Ocean and swam in the crystal blue water. It was the experience of a lifetime for both of them. Another time, he went to Iceland to see the Northern Lights and slept in an igloo. Two years ago, he had a front row seat to the Americas Cup Races in Bermuda, watching the races from the yacht.

In addition, Rob travelled to many ports in Europe, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, up and down the entire East Coast, down the St. Lawrence River to the Great Lakes. During all of these travels, he thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new adventures. He developed interesting perspectives which be loved to share and discuss.

Robert was beloved by so many people throughout the world. He will be remembered for his smile, his laugh, his sense of humor and dedication to those he loved. He was accepting of people's differences, was very loyal and always willing to help. He followed his dreams and experienced life on his own terms. Although his life was cut short, he lived the time he had to the fullest.
