CAPE NEDDICK, Maine – Samuel Wilkinson Warner,80, of 50 Logging Road, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017.
He was born in York, Maine on July 9, 1937 to Henry Flint & Mina (Wilkinson) Warner. He grew up on Logging Road with his parents and siblings: Virginia Allen, Henry Warner, June Fernald, William Warner and Linda Flowers. He was predeceased by siblings Barbara Otto and Lauretta Abbott.
On Aug. 19, 1962 Samuel married Nina (Ferrara) Warner of Boston, Massachusetts. They were happily married for 55 years, living in the home that he built for his family.
Sam was co-owner of Pier II Restaurant in Portsmouth, NH for many years. He also ran his own construction company, Warner Construction Company.
He was proud to have served in the Marines, enjoyed hunting, nature, snow plowing and the New England Patriots. He was a staunch supporter of the GOP and loved a good debate. If he called you “Skippy,” it meant he really cared about you.
He was happiest when surrounded by his family. Survivors include son, Steven Warner & wife Penny, of Cape Neddick, daughters Cindy (Warner) Furbish & husband Jeffrey, of Eliot, and Lauren (Warner) Wilber & husband Lyle, of South Berwick. He loved his six grandchildren Lindsey & Dustin Freeman, Cody & Sammy Furbish, and Gabriel & Amelia Wilber. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, December 26th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, Maine with a funeral service to begin promptly at 7pm. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 11am on Wednesday, December 27th in the First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine.
