Susan F. George August 17, 1957- July 23rd, 2019 On July 23rd, 2019, Susan George, loving wife, caring mother, and adoring grandmother passed away at the age of 61 after a battle with cancer. Susan was born on August 17th, 1957 in Winchester, MA to Richard J. MacDonald and Ruth M. MacDonald (Simonds), who raised her along with her five siblings in Melrose, MA. On November 9th, 1980, Susan married the love of her life, William P. George. Together they raised two children, Lindsay Edson (George) and William P. George II in Reading, MA. After 20 years, Susan and Bill retired and move to Cape Neddick, ME where they have spent the last 15 years.
In her spare time, Susan loved playing and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. Susan was also a craft enthusiast and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and decorating. Always a social butterfly, Susan maintained and created strong relationships every where she went. There was nothing that Susan loved more than getting family and friends together to celebrate the holidays. She put her heart and soul into every gathering she hosted, making each one special and unique.
Susan is survived by her husband of 39 years, William P. George, her two children Lindsay Edson (George) & her husband Daniel Edson, and William P. George II. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Nicholas and Mackenzie Edson. In addition, Susan is survived by her five Siblings: Richard MacDonald Jr., Larry MacDonald, David MacDonald, Gary MacDonald and Marybeth Florino (MacDonald). She is predeceased by her parents, Richard J. MacDonald and Ruth M. MacDonald (Simonds).
The family welcomes you to celebrate Susan's life with them on Tuesday, July 30th at the Union Bluff Meeting House in York Beach, ME. Family and friends are welcome to come at anytime between 5pm-8pm. Susan's burial and funeral services will be private.

Susan was a strong volunteer and supporter of this organization after her grandson was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech at age 3. The organization provides education, training, and technology to children with apraxia, and their families, in order to help facilitate communication.
