Albert A. Pare' III Obituary

Albert Arthur Pare’ III, 62, of York Beach Maine and Lighthouse Point Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

He was the son of Albert A. Pare’ Jr, and the late Elizabeth Johnson (Pare’) DeCourcey. Al grew up in York Beach with his sister Kim, late brother Bobby, and sister Nancy. They spent idyllic summers on the water, whether on the boat or beach, and loved to cause chaos at the family’s dairy farm. They enjoyed winter fun on mountains and trails, skiing and snowmobiling at camp. Al played youth baseball, coached by his dad, as well as hockey. Musically inclined, Al and brother Bobby entertained with many duets. He shared a lifelong love of reading with his mother, and love of music with all - in particular grandfather Al Sr, and father Al Jr.

Al attended Phillips Exeter Academy, followed by Colby College in Waterville Maine. During the summer, he and his siblings had great fun working at a local traditional clambake.

At Colby, Al was the proud president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, forming lifelong friendships with many of his “brothers”. During this time, he met and fell in love with Lisa Ciccia, who would become his wife and mother to their beautiful daughter Nicole.

Although later divorced, Al maintained his bond with Lisa and the Ciccia family over the years, enjoying many Christmas Eve “feasts of the seven fishes”. Al’s Italian family will remember him fondly as a son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle to all the McInnes and Ciccias.

In 1988, Al and his fraternity brother and brother-in-law Robert McInnes founded Mortgage Network Inc., a mortgage company based in Danvers MA. The company grew from the two friends sharing a card table as their desk in what was fondly known as “the mortgage basement” to nearly 400 employees scattered throughout the eastern states. The company was sold to Movement Mortgage last year, where several of Al’s close friends continue to be employed.

After serving as the company treasurer for 25 years, Al retired at age 50 to pursue his passion for tuna fishing and of course, to spend more time with his beloved first mate and daughter Nicole. The two spent many happy days together trawling for tuna and hauling up their lobster traps on the Hazel Salter.

Al partook in everything the sea had to offer, whether he was enjoying its delicious bounty on his table, or just cruising out on the waterways he loved. From his childhood days surfing and swimming with his siblings at Short Sands Beach, to sailing trips in Bucks Harbor with his pals, Al was never far from the water. In his retirement years, he could often be found hauling the docks in or out at his riverfront home in Groveland, MA, or cruising the intercoastal waterway from his house in Lighthouse Point, FL.

Al will be remembered by all for his infectious sense of humor. He could always be counted on for a good laugh or an “Uncle Fish” skit with his Pare’ nieces and nephews. He was at his best on the water, and when spending time with Nicole, his extended family, and his many loyal friends.

Albert is survived by his loving daughter Nicole Pare’ of West Newbury, MA and her long term partner Chris Puzacke; his father and stepmother Albert A. Pare’ Jr and Sandy Pare’ of York, ME; sister Kimberly Pare’ of York Beach, ME; sister Nancy Burton and husband Rick Burton of Raymond, ME; nephews Frankie and Matthew Pare’ of Los Angeles, CA; niece Katie Johnson and husband Micah Johnson of York Beach, ME; niece Lindsey Cleveland and husband Tony of Raymond, ME; nephew Jonathan Burton of Raymond, ME; uncle and cousin Richard and Michael Johnson of Leicester MA; cousins Erin and Holly Smith of Cape Cod, MA, and many dear friends throughout the country.
