Anita L. (Daly) Jones

Anita Louise Daly Jones of York Beach and Bokeelia, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the age of 82.
She was born on September 13, 1939, in Brookline, Massachusetts, to Robert E. Daly, Sr. and Louise D. (Wildermuth) Welch. She grew up in West Roxbury and Arlington, Massachusetts and was a 1957 graduate of Arlington High School and later attended Merrimack Community College.

Anita worked for many years at local hospitals, first in York and later at Portsmouth Regional, where she spent 27 years. She reluctantly retired in 2014.
Anita loved New Orleans, her flower garden, and watching the many birds who visited her well-stocked feeders. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles- always in pen, knitting and sewing gifts for her family, and sharing snacks with her best buddy Rowan.

Anita leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Doug Scully, with whom she resided, daughters Jacqueline McGarry of South Berwick and Leah Paltanawick of Kennebunk and son David Risgin of Winchester, Massachusetts. She also leaves 10 grandchildren,  including granddaughters Erin Scully of St. Petersburg, Florida and Bridey Scully of San Diego, California, with whom she was especially close. Her brother, Robert E. Daly, Jr. and several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her.

Anita's family would like to give special thanks to York Hospital Hospice for their support and care during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Anita's Life will be held at a later date. If one wishes, they may perform an unexpected act of kindness and think of her.
