Annette Fazio, 76, left us too soon but passed in the place she truly loved, York Maine. She was
born in Queens, NY on January 18, 1948 to parents Thomas and Theresa Fazio and was the
youngest of six siblings.
Annette grew up in Howard Beach, NY but moved to Maine in 1980 with her husband and her
two children, Brian and Lisa. Trying to find her calling in life, Annette started selling “Mama
Fazio’s” pasta sauce, lasagna and meatballs in her kitchen and sold it out of the local IGA.
They were so popular that she opened a restaurant (with her business partner Kevin Lahey)
that many of us loved and adored known as, Fazio’s.
Fazio’s expanded and added two La Stalla Pizzeria locations and a catering
hall and bar. Annette fed the York community for over 20 years. She adored her staff and
customers and felt the best when serving others.
Annette left the restaurant to tend to her second husband, who eventually lost his battle with
cancer. Years later she reunited with her former high school sweetheart who she married and
moved to Florida where she currently resided. She built her new life there where she
seamlessly integrated into the community becoming an avid church member and fast friend.
While in Florida, Annette began a speaking career and would give motivational speeches on all
different topics in many locations. She authored a book, “Finding the Leader Within” and was
always trying to encourage and better people. She had great tenacity that will never be forgotten
and her faith and love for God was immeasurable.
Annette is predeceased by her sister Rosie, her brother Tom and her brother John. She leaves
behind her sister Jean, brother Ernie, husband John, son Brian, daughter in-law Alice,
grandchildren Alexander, Taylor, Parker, Daughter Lisa, son in-law Luke, stepson Robert and
wife Allison; and many nieces and nephews.
