Annie Holland McCarthy

Annie Holland McCarthy, of Cape Neddick, Maine, was born October 13th, 1993, and tragically left this world on August 27th, 2025 at the age of 31. Annie is survived by her loving parents Kathleen and Denis McCarthy, brother Daniel McCarthy and partner Madison Roberts, sister Molly McCarthy Cody and husband Thomas Cody, nieces Ember and Quinn Cody, Grandmother Kathleen McCarthy, boyfriend Scott Ramsey, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and her beloved cats Winry, Chunk, and Mumma. 

Annie was a true ray of light. She was a fiercely loving sister, daughter, aunt, and friend who cared for those around her with unrelenting compassion, commitment, and empathy. She was bold, passionate, and always her authentic self. Often described as the life of the party, Annie made friends everywhere she went. It was impossible not to love her. Annie was a lifelong lover of all animals, especially cats, whom she always kept close. Annie’s favorite holiday was Halloween, and she had a penchant for horror movies and all things spooky. She could often be seen sporting t-shirts dedicated to her favorite genre. An Elder Emo and music lover, Annie regularly treated her family and friends to joy-filled renditions of her favorite songs, especially My Chemical Romance. Our family Rock Band sessions will never be the same without her lead vocals. Annie’s laugh was big and infectious, and her fiery spirit could not be contained. She will be missed as fiercely as she loved. Her memory will carry on in all who knew her, for she was absolutely unforgettable. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in Annie’s honor on Saturday, November 22nd, from 2-6pm at Cape Neddick Lobster Pound. This will be a celebration to remember, so please bring a smile, a song, and your fondest memories of our precious Annie.
