Arlene Bliss Gagnon, 96, passed away on Monday December 13, 2021 at Durgin Pines, Kittery, Maine following a brief illness. She was surrounded by love with her daughter and grandchildren Tyler and Emmalie by her side.
She was born August 18, 1925 in Lyme, New Hampshire, the only Child of the late Willis H. Bliss and Emma (Horton) Bliss. She lived most of her young life in Lyme until moving to Dover, New Hampshire.
She graduated from Dover High School class of 1944. She continued her education at the Wentworth Douglas School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. She spent many of her years working as a registered nurse in the New England area.
She married Joseph H. Gagnon of South Berwick, Maine August 13, 1941. They built a home in York Harbor, Maine where they lived most of their lives, raising 3 children, Jeffery J. Gagnon and twins Lisa A. Gagnon and Scott A. Gagnon.
Arlene was predeceased by her husband Joseph of 50 years and son Jeffery.
She leaves a daughter, Lisa Gagnon of Eliot, Maine and twin son Scott Gagnon of Boulder, Colorado, grandchildren Tyler H. Norrman of Alton, New Hampshire, Emmalie B. Connor and Husband Ralph of York, Maine, Reilly Gagnon and Marley Gagnon both of Boulder, Colorado. Also her greatest joys, great grandchildren Samuel J. Connor and her namesake Arlene J. Connor of York, Maine and Addaline N. McGraw of Somersworth, New Hampshire. Also her half-sister, Lois Stevens of Goshen, New Hampshire.
She will forever be remembered in our hearts, as the gracious, kind, elegant woman. A loving, caring and supportive mom and a devoted, proud, and understanding grandma and great grandma.
