Barbara A. (Talpey) Beaumont

Barbara Ann Talpey Beaumont, 86, Barbara passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Yarmouth, Maine. She was born on January 22, 1936, in York, Maine, daughter of the late Norris A. and Susan M. (Lucas) Talpey.

She attended York schools graduating in 1954. After a year at McIntosh College in Dover, N.H., she worked at Dale Motors in York where she met her future husband, Richard W. Beaumont, marrying in 1958. Once married Barbara and Richard left York, living in Asbury NJ, Claremont, NH, Dallas TX, Wilbraham, MA, and Sidney OH.

Barbara enjoyed making each residence a warm and inviting home. In Ohio she worked as an administrative assistant at the neighboring Joint Vocational School. They retired to York Beach in 1989 where she was an active member of Union Congregational Church, enjoying the fellowship and playing bridge with her friends. During her life Barbara enjoyed being outside, catching cunners off the rocks, striper fishing along the banks of the York River, gardening, sailing, needlework, and cooking.

Barbara was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The last years of her life she resided at Brentwood Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Yarmouth, Maine where she was known for her cheerful demeanor and good spirits.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard. She is survived by a son, Michael T. Beaumont of York Beach, Maine; a daughter, Michele Pettibone and her husband Tim, of Helena, AL; two grandchildren Nathaniel Pettibone of Houston, Texas, and Matthew Pettibone and his wife Landrie, of Clarksville, TN.
