Bernie Giamberardino

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bernie Giamberardino after a long battle with cancer. For more than seventeen years, Bernie faced the challenges of multiple myeloma with unwavering strength and grace, inspiring all who knew him.

 Bernie was born on November 9, 1970, in Everett, Massachusetts, the son of Maddalena (née D’Alleva) and the late Bernardo Giamberardino. He grew up in Woburn, Massachusetts, and later made his home in York, Maine.

 A respected landscape designer and operations manager for more than 35 years, Bernie transformed public and private spaces through innovative designs and a deep understanding of softscape and hardscape practices. Known for his patience, creativity, and ability to listen, he made clients feel valued and helped create spaces that reflected their vision.

 Bernie was a friend to all who knew him, and he loved helping others. He was happiest in his backyard, surrounded by family and friends, grilling and enjoying a cocktail.

 Bernie is survived by his wife, Melissa; his mother, Maddalena; his sister Mary Carpinito and her husband, Eugenio; his sister Sue DiMambro; his brother Anthony Giamberardino and his wife, Diane; his in-laws, Stephen and Maryanne Barron; his sisters-in-law, Nicole Pandolph and Stephanie Forgett and her husband, Gerard; his brother-in-law Stephen Barron and his wife, Tara; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernardo and brother-in-law, Gildo DiMambro. Bernie also leaves behind his well-loved French bulldogs, Louie and Eloise.

 A funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christopher’s Church in York, Maine.

 Bernie will be remembered for his generous heart, steady strength, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and kindness to countless lives, and his memory will continue to live on in the family, friends, and community who were blessed to know him.
