Brian Lee McGann, husband, father, grandfather, successful entrepreneur, and avid outdoorsman, died peacefully in his sleep at home in York Harbor, Maine, on October 28, 2023 with his wife by his side. He was 89 years old.
Brian was born in New Haven, CT, August 13, 1934 to Simon Aubrey and Mary Francis White McGann. He was raised in Guilford, Connecticut after which he attended a small, but excellent business school, Nichols College in Dudley, MA.
After marrying Roberta “Bobbie” McGann, in 1964, Brian and Bobbie raised their family in Old Lyme, Connecticut. In Connecticut, Brian built from scratch several successful medical based businesses. After retirement the couple moved to Bobbie’s hometown of York Harbor, ME. While in Maine, and despite retiring, Brian started a final business investing in the future of young professionals interested in business ownership in the physical therapy field. This final business continues to thrive today and all his partners success brought him great joy.
His family and friends will miss him greatly. Brian was a compassionate, humorous man who loved to chat, hear your stories, and share a smile.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers David and Simon. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Roberta “Bobbie” McGann, his older daughter Erin Kendra McGann and her husband Paul King, of York, Maine, and his younger daughter Shaye, her husband John M. Robbins, and their daughter Zady Lillian, of Kittery Point, Maine. He also leaves behind his in-laws, Sarah Newick, Mason and Catherine Newick and his many nieces and nephews throughout New England and British Columbia, Canada.
