Obituary
York Harbor, Maine - Carol S. Macdonald, 84, a longtime resident of York Harbor, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in The Residence at Silver Square in Dover, NH. She was born January 7, 1938 in Fitchburg, MA a daughter of the late Herbert W. and Irene J. (Henke) Schreiber.
She received her Bachelor's degree in nursing from the New England Deaconess Hospital and then her Masters degree in gerontology from Pennsylvania State University.
She was a member of the First Parish Congregational Church, and volunteered at the Food Pantry.
She leaves a son Joel A. Gurner; two daughters, Hilary Steinberg and Sarah Gurner; a sister Lois Wagner; grandchildren Jordan, Jenica, Marisa, Jocelyn, and Selena Steinburg, and Austin and Maranda Gurner; great grandchildren Keyton, Kaden, Colton, Clayton, Cayley, Faith and Breyton Gurner, Juno and Lara Steinburg, and Logan Birch. Her husband Norman J. Macdonald died in 2002.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 14th in the First Parish Congregational Church, York, Maine. Memorial contributions may be made to a Food Pantry, the Salvation Army or the First Parish Congregational Church. Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, York, Maine is directing arrangements.
