Carol S. Potvin, 89, of York, Maine, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at home with her family by her side. She was born December 21, 1935 in Middletown, CT a daughter of the late Harold S. and Clara S. (Hall) Hubbard. She was one of six children.
Carol graduated high school and went to Fanny Farmer Cooking School where she met her first husband. They moved to York in the 1960’s and had two children; Victoria J. Muscarello and Harold “Wayne” Goodwin. In 1968 they divorced and she became a single mother. In 1981 she married Lucien “Lou” Potvin who gave her eight step-children and all their extended family. She loved them all.
Carol loved knitting, word puzzles, gardening, spending time at Norma’s Restaurant, and was an avid yard sale lady.
She leaves her husband of 44 yrs, Lucien R. Potvin; a daughter Victoria J. Muscarello and her husband Angelo of York, Maine; two grandsons Christopher G. Potvin and Timothy D. Landry; a great-granddaughter Wyatt; three sisters Jeanette, Nancy and Catherine; eight step-children and their families; many nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by son Harold "Wayne" Goodwin; a step-son Mike Potvin; daughter-in-law Celest Potvin, and a step-grandson Brian Potvin.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will take place at 11am on Monday, March 3rd in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine with a period of visitation from 10 to 11am prior to the service. Interment will take place in the First Parish Cemetery in the spring.
