Chuck DeLuca owner and operator of Maritime Antiques in York, ME passed away on January 29, 2025 after a brief illness. Chuck was born on April 14, 1939 in Worcester, Massachusetts where he spent his childhood.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an Airedale and was stationed in Brunswick, ME. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Bath, ME where he discovered his love of antiques, particularly nautical and Americana, and began to buy and sell items. Maritime Antiques and Auctions was established in the mid 1970’s and became a premier source of nautical antiques in the area. Chuck held nautical antique auctions on the East and West coasts for many years and his gallery was a place that many collectors would visit in search of unique items. In addition to owning his business, Chuck was an author and appraiser, including working with the Smithsonian Museum on some of their collections.
Chuck was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. In 1984, he met Jan DeLuca his wife of 32 years. Their blended family included children from both of their previous marriages and several grandchildren who all were a special part of his life. He will be greatly missed by his dear family and business acquaintances alike.
