Daniel P. Donnell Sr.

York Harbor, Maine- Daniel P. Donnell Sr., 105, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Sentry Hill with his family by his side. He was born March 16, 1918 in York, Maine a son of the late Daniel A. and Bridget (Kelly) Donnell. He graduated from York High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and  had worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 28 years before retiring.

He will be remembered best as a Volunteer at York Hospital for over 15 years and for collecting food boxes around the Holidays for the York Community.

He is survived by his daughter Mary M. Donnell-Coite and her husband William of York Harbor, Maine; two sons Michael J. Donnell and his wife Marsha of Hanover, MA and Daniel P. Donnell III and his wife Beverly Jonberg of Poolesville, MD; 4 grandchildren, Megan Donnell, Marisha Sabin, Amanda Banish, Jonathan Donnell; 4 great-grandchildren Michael, Emerence, Maeve and Landon.

Two sisters Rita Turner and Mary McCarthy predeceased him.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8pm on Tuesday, June 6th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 7th in the First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine.

A gathering for family and friends will follow the Interment at the York Harbor Marine, Dockside Tiki Bar all are welcome.
