Daniel T. Fitzgerald

Daniel Fitzgerald had a way of making everyone feel special. He listened with his whole heart, and would do anything for anyone, especially when someone fell on hard times. He brought so much joy to so many with his crude humor, and ability to make you smile even in the worst moments. In more recent years, he was proud to have become the king of dad jokes for the kids. He was the first to throw around a football, or come up with (sometimes questionable) shenanigans to put a smile on the children's faces. Life was never boring with him around, and you could never leave his presence without feeling lighter and happier.

He will be remembered for his fierce love of his children Aedan, Van and Chase, as well as his bonus sons, Andrew, Patrick and Mason. They meant everything to him, as well as the love of his life, his wife, Meggy McGaffigan, who he called his "forevah evah". He very often would laugh and hug her as she eye rolled and chuckled at his constant humor, thanking her for the love and home they shared.

His light and love will forever surround us all, the way it did in life.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Fitzgerald, his brother Terry Fitzgerald, his stepfather, Robert Cronin, and his mother, Marie Fitzgerald.

He is also survived by his many siblings, Kevin, Rosemarie, Julie, Brian, Sean, Jerry and Tom (TJ), as well as countless friends who called him family.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 18, the way he would have loved. Details will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in his honor as giving back to nature was a passion of his.
