York, Maine-David Eugene Bardsley was born in Lincoln, Massachusetts on January 17, 1947. He was an only child.
He lived his youth in the family home with his parents Doris A. (Rasmusson) Bardsley and Theodore J. Bardsley.
He attended the Lincoln Schools and graduated from Lincoln Sudbury Regional School district in 1965.
He was stricken with polio at 2 years of age and it affected his life until the end.
His mother was trained by Boston Children’s Hospital to give him physical therapy.
He studied classical music on the piano and then went on to teach himself the guitar. His greatest joy was his music.
Covid put an end to his playing which devastated him.
He spent summers in York at his aunt's home where he played with cousins.
He loved the American Legion and always regretted that he could not join the Military like his father.
He moved to York permanently in 2005 with his wife Mary Jo.
He died on December 8, 2023 of a Stroke. He is now with his parents and they are together as a family of three.
