Deborah (Heald) Oberg

York, Maine-Deborah (Heald) Oberg, 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, New Hampshire. She was born October 16, 1945 in Portland, Maine a daughter of the late James L. and Phyllis R. (Hennessy) Heald.

Debbie worked as a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital prior to raising a family. She had many interests in her life including sailing, skiing, gardening, and knitting. Debbie also played bridge regularly and was an amazing chef and baker. She was a member of the Garden Club of America, the Piscataqua Garden Club, the Eastern Yacht Club, the Sugarloaf Ski Club, the Reading Room, and the York Golf & Tennis Club. Although Sugarloaf was not a primary residence, it is the center of many fond memories.

Debbie was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Frederick. H. Oberg, and her brother David N. Heald. She leaves behind son Eric Oberg and his wife Christie of Eliot, ME; daughter Thayer Wollenberg and her husband Patrick of Melrose, MA; grandsons and granddaughters, Camden, Annika, and Libby Oberg and Heidi and Henrik Wollenberg.

Services will be Friday, August 1 at 11am at the Trinity Church in York Harbor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to local hospice agencies.
