Dolores (Best) Takarewski

Dolores Takarewski, 92, of York, Maine, passed away peacefully at York Hospital on March 31st, surrounded by family. She was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania, on July 2, 1933, and was the daughter of Thelma Best. She worked for many years as a fashion buyer at The Boston Store in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Joe, and her siblings, Elizabeth Miller and William Lewis. She is survived by her son Joe Takarewski, son-in-law Craig Sato, and her nieces and nephews.

After retirement, Dolores enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends. She delighted in hosting and joining holiday celebrations with family. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, living life without pretension, and her willingness to help those in need.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 15th in the York-Ogunquit United Methodist Church in York, Maine. Interment of her ashes will occur at Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
