Dustin W. Mracek

Dustin W. Mracek, 36, of York, ME, left us suddenly on Tuesday morning, Nov 27, 2018 after a brief battle with a systemic blood infection. This unimaginable heartbreak is shared by our family and his extensive family of friends. The staff at York Hospital, Maine Medical Center, and the emergency transport team were so amazing and we are truly grateful for everything they did to try to save our sweet boy. Dustin was known by all as a sweet, kind, gentle giant with the warmest bear hugs even the most stoic of people could not turn down. A man who shared his life freely with his many friends, always the first to offer a helping hand, putting the needs of others before his own. When not at work with his “other family” at Georgia Pacific, he could be found at Odiorne Point fishing with friends, making music, or singing a whole heck of a lot of karaoke. Dustin is survived by his parents, Bill and Wendy Mracek of York; sister Holly Mracek of Kittery; grandparents, Robert and Katherine Moulton of York; grandfather, William Mracek Sr. of Sequim, WA; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. During this time of grieving we should take his lead in caring for one another, reach out to those in need, and also do what he did not find so easy: ask for help and graciously receive it, as we will all find ourselves in want of a kind friend. On December 9th, we will be having a celebration of Dustin’s life at New Frontiers Church, located at 1 Gosling Rd. Portsmouth, NH. We welcome you to join us during these times to come and go freely, knowing we all grieve in our own way. 3:00-3:30 pm: A service of guided remembrance with comments from the family. 3:30-6:00 pm: Come and go freely. A time to eat, share stories, laugh, shed a tear and hug a neck.
