Evelyn “Evie” Lipka, 88, of York, Maine died January 7, 2025 at Durgin Pines, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Through the years she had a career as a special education teacher both in Thomaston, CT as well as in the York Public school system. She was very active in the community in York. She volunteered at the York Hospital starting in room service and then went between the Cath Lab and Cardiology. Evie was there for close to 20 years, starting in 2008, and had almost 3000 volunteer hours, and also became a Reiki Practitioner. Evie was also a member of the Nubble Lighthouse/Sohier Park Committee board for 12 years and before that was a Nubble Lighthouse ambassador. She also participated in the York Gardening Club.
Surviving family members include her sons, Kent Lipka and Kirk Lipka, daughter Nara Paccico and husband Larry Paccico, granddaughters Kourtney Coons, Jillian Paccico and Cailyn Paccico, and two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Nina Coons. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Marilyn Drs and husband Kenneth Drs (predeceased) and several loving nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband Paul Lipka and her daughter Narissa Lipka.
