F. Wade Greer Jr.

F. Wade Greer, Jr, 87, from Nokomis Florida and Exeter NH passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Mass General Hospital. He was born July 20, 1930 in Cambridge, Ma, son of Frederick W. And Eleanor (Fuller) Greer. Wade went to the Dublin School in NH then to MIT, graduating in 1952 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married Barbara Jean Lloyd in 1953. They moved to Lynnfield, Ma after Wade served in the Army. In 1965 Wade went to work for Wire Belt Company of America and took over as President in 1973, retiring in 1998. Wade was an avid bridge player reaching Life Master status. He was navigator on several Newport/Bermuda races, loved golf, the Red Sox and his family. He was known for always having a joke, and sometimes, they were funny! He will be missed dearly by his wife of almost 65 years and his five children.; Susan Greer Littlefield of St. John, USVI, Stephen Wade Greer and wife Joanne of Lincoln, NH, David Lloyd Greer and wife Constance of Fremont, NH, Thomas Hubbard Greer and wife Lorraine of Chester, NH and Robert Hayes Greer and wife Laurie of Hudson, NH. He leaves seven grandchildren, Kyle, Cassie, Tory, Jonathan, Bill, Christopher and Alex. Four great grandchildren, Evan, Cyril, Ethan and Judith. His sister, Nancy Greer Hough, predeceased him. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to MIT in memory of F. Wade Greer, Jr. ’52 for the Frederick W. (1925) and Eleanor F. Greer (Scholarship) Fund.
