Gail M. (Assini) Mauriello, 76, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, passed away peacefully Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 20, 1948, in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Vincent and Marion (Teal) Assini. She was one of seven siblings, preceded in passing by Vincient Assini, Colleen Carter, and JoeAnn Doherty, and survived by Sheila (Bougopoulos) Bowdler of Alfred, ME, and Sandra Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ.
She was a loving mother to her daughters, Sharon and her husband Francis (Racine) of Mansfield, MA, and Jennifer and her husband Stephen (Doran) of Ivyland, PA. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Stephen Patrick, Ava Katherine, and Leila Rose Doran.
Gail found true joy in caring for others, whether it be for her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, or the many other important people in her life. She was caring, genuine, and a friend to all.
Through the years, she had many different careers, including owning two businesses. She was a master barber, eventually opening her own shop and later owning a consignment shop in Brookline, MA. She was also a beloved nanny, leaving a lasting impact on the family she cared for.
Gail was a vibrant, magnetic person whom people loved to be around. She had a love for reading, cooking, baking, and especially music. She appreciated every genre and loved staying in tune with what was current, often surprising her family with her knowledge of today’s hits.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th from 1 pm-2 pm with the service to be held at 2 pm at Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd, York, ME.
