George, 82, died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 25, 2024, the afternoon of the worm moon. Born in Springfield, Vermont on February 26, 1942, George was a true New Englander and Patriot living most recently in Kittery Point, Maine with ties in Newton, NH , Merrimac and Newburyport, MA.
George was a gentle soul who never met a stranger. He led a simple but full life where his family, blood or not, was his greatest joy and achievement. He was a master carpenter by trade and left his mark on many a home including his parents James; Virgina (Gammons). His interests had no bonds; lover of the automobile, a limerick writer, a singer especially of Christmas carol where he would lead his family every Christmas Eve, and he whistled while he worked. He had a profound appreciation for the physical world, birds, architecture, and art. George was an avid reader and loved his book club and was a self-taught historian. George was drawn to the water maybe by heritage or by one of his many boats. He taught his grandchildren his love of fishing at his cottage on Country Pond, a gathering place he built for his family and where he married his wife.
George is survived by his love Marjan Frank, his three daughters: Lori (Musmann) , Molly (Dora), and Jennifer (Glidden), his stepson Eric (Gold) and their partners. His grandchildren; Vanessa, Henry, Tucker, Genevieve, Vivien, and Hugo and his great granddaughter Willow, his sisters Ruth (Benjamin), Jane (Sweetsir), Sara (Frendenburgh) and Amy (Robinson) and their 9 children as well as his beloved dog Otis.
