George F. Furlone Obituary

Keene, NH — George F. Furlone, a lifelong and beloved resident of Keene, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born in Keene on October 21, 1941, to Henry and Rose (Desrosiers) Furlone, George grew up in the community he loved. He attended Keene High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning home, George married the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Phillips. Together, they shared a beautiful journey and celebrated over 60 years of marriage.

George was a dedicated worker, spending many years at American Optical, followed by Kolmorgen, and ultimately concluding his career at Corning, where he worked well into his 70s.

An outdoor enthusiast, George felt most at home in nature. He loved hunting with his son and nephew, was an avid fly fisherman, and spent countless hours tying his own flies. He and Connie also shared a passion for hiking, successfully tackling many of the challenging 4,000-foot peaks in New Hampshire's White Mountains. George was a familiar face and fixture at local gyms; an avid runner, he took great pride in competing in several marathons. Above all, he cherished family vacations, spending many memorable summers by the ocean at Hampton Beach and Wells Beach, Maine.

Affectionately known to many as "Bubba," George found his greatest joy in watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Whether standing on the sidelines of New England’s soccer fields  or sitting courtside in local gyms, Bubba was the ultimate supporter of youth, high school, and collegiate athletics.

George is survived by his loving wife, Constance "Connie" Furlone; his children, Michael Furlone and his wife, Andrea, of Windham, Maine, and Nina (Furlone) Dadmun and her fiancé, Nick Lubensky, of Salem, New Hampshire.

He was blessed with six grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Perry Kiritsy and his wife, Olivia, of Nacogdoches, Texas; Emma (Furlone) Nielsen and her husband, John, of Forest Hills, New York; Anna Furlone and her partner, Stephen Greenwood, of Newmarket, New Hampshire; Jack Kiritsy and his wife, Nora, of Swanzey, New Hampshire; Joseph Furlone and his partner, Aidan Benavides of Jersey City, New Jersey; and Nicholas Dadmun of Sarasota, Florida. George was also the incredibly proud great-grandfather ("Big Bubba") to Madeline and John Nielsen.
