York, Maine-George L. Chapman Jr., 97 of Beech Ridge Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

He was born June 25, 1924, in York, Maine son of the late George L. and Alice. (McIntire) Chapman Sr.

He was the last living York High School graduate for the class of 1941 after Ted Bracy had passed in 2020.

He was an Army Veteran and had served in World War II. He worked for Simplex Wire & Cable in Newington, NH as an engineer for many years before retiring.

He loved his family; friends; nature, hunting and fishing. He always had the greatest sense of humor.

His wife Viola R. (Shaner) Chapman and a daughter Donna Holmander predeceased him.

He leaves a son Gregory G. Chapman and his wife Laurie of Cape Neddick, ME; and a son-in-law David Holmander; Grandchildren; Amy Phillips and her husband Rob; Tiffani Spender and her husband Dave; Hillari Eager and her Husband Sean; Morgan Chapman; Brent Johnson and his wife Sarah; Frazier Johnson and his fiancé Justine; Jacob Johnson; and12 Great-Grandchildren.
