Gerald Vecchione Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Vecchione, 86, of York Maine, passed away on August 10th, 2025. He was born in Newton, MA on April 10th, 1939 to Italian immigrants Giovanni and Lucia. Jerry was the baby of eleven siblings Lena, Laura, Bessie, Louise, Peggy, Mary, Johnny, Tina, Freddy, and Danny who all preceded him in death.

 

In the spring, Jerry lost the love of his life Deanna (Dee) Vecchione. He is survived by two daughter’s Patricia Nelson Gregoire and Deborah Hogan;  Four granddaughters, Tara Gregoire, Jessica Cheung, Taylor Lemoi and Grace Hogan- Miller, and six great grandchildren Quentin, Olivia, Oliver, Ethan, Lyleigh and Addie. Jerry is also predeceased by his son in law Armand Gregoire.

 

After high school Jerry enlisted in the Navy and served four years. Jerry was a builder/developer he built some of the first condo communities in New Hampshire, Mountain Home estates and century village. He became involved in local politics as the president of the home builder's association. In earlier days Jerry loved to travel with his wife Dee touring Italy and other European countries. Jerry also enjoyed skiing and most of all golfing he always had a “punch” list of things to do around the house. He built and lived in many homes, and each one was a palace to him, Jerry and Dee decided to settle and retire in the beautiful seaside town of York ME where they enjoyed visiting the beaches, Nubble Lighthouse and their favorite ice cream stand “Browns”.  Jerry will be remembered for his deep love for his family, talented singing voice, dedication to his building career, and the loving care he provided to his wife in her last days.
