Presque Isle, Maine - Gerald C. Dow, 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Enclave in Scarborough, Maine. He was born on October 5, 1941 in Woodland, Maine, a son of the late Kenneth L. and Arlene (McIntire)Dow.
After Jerry graduated from Washburn District High School in 1959, he went on to the University of Maine at Orono, where he received an associate’s degree in agribusiness.
Through the years, Jerry worked as a dairy and potato farmer, later becoming a chemical consultant for FMC Corp., Nutrite Corp. and Cavendish Farms. No matter his occupation, Jerry was always a good friend, neighbor and mentor, generous with his time, money, energy and experience. He was especially concerned for his growers and their crops. An avid outdoorsman, Jerry had great stories of his time hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and golfing. Those who knew him will miss his quick wit and dry sense of humor. For those who were on the receiving end of his pranks, we ask your forgiveness.
He is survived by two daughters, Deidra Dow and partner, Kris Coburn of Waterford, ME and Andrea Bingham and husband, Jim of Eliot, ME. His grandchildren, Thomas Dalholt and wife, Caroline; David Dalholt and wife, Amber; Sydney Bingham; Chad Dow and wife, Keri; and Kara Look and husband, Dylan. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Lavway and husband, Duane; Judy Grant and husband Jeff; and sister-in-law, Anita Dow. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, Paul G. Dow and his brothers, Errol Dow and Michael Dow.
