Gregory “Greg” Titman, of Ogunquit, Maine, passed away on May 3rd, surrounded by
friends and family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and deep community
connection. Born on February 5, 1937, Greg lived a long and meaningful life defined by
generosity, loyalty, and the relationships he nurtured.
A dedicated community citizen, Greg served on the Ogunquit Building, Budget Review,
and Town Manager Selection Committee from 2007 to 2014, where he was respected
for his thoughtful judgment and steady presence. He was also a proud member of the
TramutoPorter Foundation from its inception in 2001, contributing to its mission of
compassion, leadership, and improving the lives of others.
Although Greg’s immediate family lived in the Midwest, he built a close and loving family
of friends in Ogunquit. Greg had a cherished routine of visiting a different local
restaurant each day of the week — a rhythm that reflected both his love of community
and the deep friendships he formed with the people who welcomed him as one of their
own. These daily connections became the heart of his life in Maine.
Greg spent much of his career as an electrical engineer earning the respect of
colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, he enjoyed traveling and he treasured the
simple joys of coastal living.
He is survived by his sister Susan, and nephews Christopher, Doug and Brian, who will
forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his twin sister,
Gretchen.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of Greg’s life on Friday, May 8th
from 2-4 pm in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, Maine.
A reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30pm following the gathering at Caffe Prego in Ogunquit.
