Hanna (Pralle) Smith

Hanna Pralle Smith, of Chelmsford, MA passed away in her home in York, Maine on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the age of 90 years.
Born and raised in Kalefeld, Germany, Hanna was the second daughter of the late Erna and August Pralle.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years P. Christopher Smith, of Chelmsford, MA and York, ME and two daughters, Susanne Salvo and husband Tony Salvo of York, ME and Constance McCormack and husband Mike McCormack of Northborough, MA and four grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Salvo and Michael and Derek McCormack who loved their “Oma” dearly. She was predeceased by her sisters Edith Pralle of Kalefeld, Germany and Christa Sobel of Lake Tahoe, CA.  

    
Hanna worked in the Chelmsford, MA school system for many years and was a long standing member of the German Club of Lowell, MA. Hanna and Chris enjoyed traveling widely to many Countries and States. Their love of hiking, camping, biking and the outdoors kept them both healthy. Her love of family, reading, good conversation, cooking and especially baking led to her longevity.  Her radiant smile and fun loving personality will be sorely missed.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 14th at 11:00AM in St John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, NH followed by burial services in the First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine. 
The family wishes to thank York Hospital and their devoted staff, and hospice of York, Maine for the compassionate care and attention given to Hanna during her last months.
