James Angelis passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 84 in Kittery, Maine.
James known as “Jimmy the Greek” was a lifelong member of the VFW, Elks, and American Legion. Jimmy served in the US Army during the Korean War. Jimmy retired from Boston Edison as a substation operator out of Woburn, Massachusetts.
He was longtime resident of Tewksbury and Woburn, Massachusetts. Later in life, he spent his time split between York Beach, Maine and Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Jimmy will be truly missed by so many. He is survived by Madeline Angelis and son, Arthur Angelis both of Tewksbury; and his three stepchildren Kathy McElroy and her husband Steve of Billerica, Daniel Brian Hurley and his wife Debbie of York, and James Hurley of Londonderry. He was a loving grandfather of grandchildren Cole, Liana, Kevin, Kimberly, Kayla, Timothy and Brendan. Papa will be missed by his many great- grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Celebration of Life on May 6, 2023 from 2:00 – 6:00
pm at the VFW Post 6977 in York, Maine.
