BEVERLY “JANE” PRATT TURNER ~ Feb 12, 1939 - June 3, 2021
Jane Pratt passed away on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82. She was born in Bennington, VT on February 12, 1939, the third of four children to James & Ethel (Johns) Suitor.
The Suitor family moved to York when Jane was five years old. Jane moved to Boston after graduating from York High School in 1957 and began a successful career in bookkeeping. At the age of 20 she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Pratt, in June of 1959 and moved back to York. Bob and Jane had three children. In addition to her own children, she was blessed to also have three step-daughters she loved as her own.
Jane was an excellent athlete who excelled at basketball, but as she matured the game of golf became her passion. She had many fond memories traveling with her loving husband Bob and playing golf with so many wonderful friends and family. Though the tragedy of losing her husband after just 12 years of marriage was devastating for her, she continued with strength and courage while relishing time with her loved ones. She always lived life to the fullest and was especially grateful for the devoted care of her daughter Penny these past several months.
Jane is survived by her three children, William (Bill) Pratt, Penelope (Penny) Pratt Hogan, and James (Jim) Pratt, and three stepdaughters, Susan Pratt Smith, Vallana Winslow Pratt, and Holly R. (Pratt) Connelly, seven grandchildren, Dylan Pratt, Matthew Pratt, William Pratt (Will), Parker Hogan, Augustus (Gus) Hogan, Devon Smith and Emily Connelly, and her beloved sister Linda Davis. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Pratt, sister Lois (Suitor) Berger and brother William (Bill) Suitor.
A private Graveside Service will be held in the First Parish Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place later this summer.
