Janet H. Hilton

Cape Neddick, Maine-Janet H. Hilton, 91 passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born March 21, 1933 in York, Maine a daughter of the late Nelson and Edith (Moulton) Hutchins. Her husband Alva Hilton of 65 years passed in 2020.

Throughout her life some of Janet’s favorite activities were camping with her family at Moosehead Lake, watching and feeding birds at her Cape Neddick home and playing the piano.  Janet also enjoyed time in her vegetable garden, baking and sewing. Janet was a long time member of the Cape Neddick Baptist Church.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Nicholas Hilton and his wife Jennifer Hilton of York, Maine, Lora Greene and her husband Jim Greene of Roxbury, Maine, great-granddaughter Koralynn Hilton and 2 great-grandsons Garrett Hilton and Culper Hilton of York, Maine, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by a son, David Hilton, who died in May of 2003, which was the saddest and most difficult challenge of her life.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 28th in the First Parish Cemetery, 180 York St., York, Maine.
