Jeanne P. (Allie) Lyons

Jeanne Priscille (Allie) Lyons,73 yrs. old, of York, ME.  passed away on Thursday June 1, 2023, at Avita of Wells, after a long and courageous battle with Dementia.  During her final days, she was surrounded by her loving family and many friends. Jeanne was born January 31,1950 at the Webber Hospital in Biddeford, ME.  She is predeceased by her parents, Raymond & Orilla Allie, her brother Jerry Allie, and his son Brian.

She is survived by her husband, Bill. Her daughter Pamela Bridges of Auburn, NH, her husband Curtis and their children, Ally, and Casey. Her son Shawn Lyons of Marblehead, MA, his wife Kelly, and their sons, Gavin, Madden, and Tucker. Her son Tim Lyons of Sudbury, MA, his wife Anna and their daughters, Nora, and Zoey. Jeanne’s grandchildren were the source of so much joy in her life. She is also survived by her brother Don and his wife Linda of Biddeford, ME.  

Jeanne graduated from St. Louis High School in 1968.  That fall, she entered Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. She graduated in 1972 with a BS degree in Mathematics/Secondary Education. It was at Merrimack where she met the love of her life, Bill Lyons.  They married in Oct. of 1972.  They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last October. After spending their first year of marriage in North Andover, they moved to Salem, NH where they lived for 35 years. 

Jeanne taught High School Math in Methuen, MA, Pelham, NH, and eventually ended her career at the High School in Salem, NH.

It was in Salem that Jeanne & Bill raised their three wonderful children, Pamela, Shawn, and Tim. In 2008, Jeanne and Bill moved to their dream home on the Nubble in York, ME. They had found a place that gave them an immense amount of joy with family and friends.

Jeanne’s family wants to extend their deep appreciation to the entire staff at Avita of Wells for a year and a half of wonderful care.  And, too, Beacon Hospice/Amedisys for shepherding us through Jeanne’s final days.
