In Loving Memory of Jennie Catherine [Polimeni] Branagan
August 29, 1936 - June 22, 2023
Jennie Catherine [Polimeni] Branagan, a beloved mother, devoted friend, and cherished member of the
community, passed away on June 22, 2023. Born on August 29, 1936, she was a first generation U.S.
Citizen, her parents John and Carmella Polimeni, Italian immigrants built their family home in Garfield,
NJ. Jennie grew up in this loving home alongside her siblings Mary [Polimeni] Trentacosta, Dominic
Polimeni, and Nick Polimeni.
Throughout her life, Jennie thrived on being social, meeting new people and developing long term
friendships. During her high school years, she actively participated in the bowling league and various
social clubs. Her adventurous nature led her to become a flight attendant for North East Airlines, where
she embraced new experiences and forged lifelong connections.
At the age of 25, Jennie married Bill Branagan, a widower with two daughters, Susan [Branagan]
McIntosh and Dawn Branagan. They moved to York Harbor, Maine in 1966, and had three children
together: Patrick Branagan, Gina [Branagan] Connolly, and John Branagan. Jennie and Bill moved to
Florida in 1987 and she remained in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, after Bill passed away in 1993 until
moving to New Hampshire in 2019.
Jennie was a lifelong competitor – she loved and excelled at games. In 1967, she was a contestant on
the gameshow Concentration where she was the ‘grand prize’ winner and among other prizes, came
home with a new car. She was a Bridge Senior Life Master, an avid cribbage player, loved answering
most of the questions on nightly Jeopardy, and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Throughout her life, Jennie effortlessly struck up conversations with anyone she met and could converse
easily in English, Italian or Spanish. Jennie's memory will be forever cherished by her loving family,
friends, and all those who knew her. Jennie is survived by her children and their spouses: Patrick
Branagan and Lisa Branagan, Gina [Branagan] Connolly and Patrick Connolly, and John Branagan. Jennie
also leaves behind her five grandchildren: Ashley Branagan, Cole Branagan and Michael Branagan,
Callan Branagan, and Liam Connolly.
A celebration of Jennie's life will be held on June 29th , 2023, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the Lucas & Eaton
Funeral Home in York, ME.
